Over the years I have tried many products to keep my car shinning like new. I am wondering if anyone knows which product is the best. I would rather use a sealant so that I am not re-coating the car every month. I understand that there are products out there that you can use once a year.

I know some folks in the Rolls-Royce collector community who swear by Collinite waxes. The general consensus is that Collinite 476S Super Doublecoat Wax is an excellent product while some use the somewhat more expensive Collinite No 915 Marque D'Elegance Premium Wax.

The 476S is around $18 for a 9-oz can, far less than many of the better marketed "high end" brands.

I've been using Zaino Brothers Products for 4 or 5 years. It goes on well and looks great.

Dave 3M adhesive remover is available anywhere 3M products are sold--they might not stock it but it is still in the system--use it all the time!

Carl -

Whatever you choose I STRONGLY recommend that you stay away from paint sealant products.

I bought a 2003 XK8 Coupe in 2007 and the dealer applied (without my knowledge) a paint sealant called "EcoBlock" that I have been unable to remove and it now looks - as a former JCNA Champion described it - like "old shellac". I have tried a clay bar, Meguiars Cleaner, Varsol, rubbing compounds, gasoline, dishwasher detergent, ans other things that you're not suppposed to put on your car. A couple of weeks ago a technician at Griot's Garage suggested a 50% mixture of Dawn and water and it shows promise. The other uggestions that I haven't tried yet are color sanding ($$$) and 3M adhesive remover (hard to find).

If you want a long-lasting protection I recommend Maguiars Cleaner and/or a clay bar followed by Maguars #7 Show Car Glaze and #26 Yellow High Tech carnuba paste wax. Everyone has their own favorites but that formula hs taken my 2000 S-TYPE to 6 consecutive JCNA C-17 championships.
