Presently I have my 84 and 93 jags insured with Collector's Car Insurance. They are limiting me to 5000 miles on the 93 and chargine $291 a year. I also think they don't allow me to participate in rallys. Can anyone recommend another or better insurance company for my Jags.

One of the JCNA benefits is a 5% discount with Hagerty. See http://www.hagerty.com/jcna

I am a satisfied customer with Heacock, knowing them well (they are based in my home town). Their collector policies are written for American Modern Insurance. I believe they still offer a 10% discount for car club members who give them website links and/or newsletter ads.

My daily driver is with USAA, and they offer collector policies for American Collectors Insurance.

Allen -

I suggest getting quotes from Heacock (800) 274-1804 or (877) 686-1944 and Haggerty. I have a 1989 Mustang GT Convertible and a 1968 Volvo 1800S covered (Houston) for less than $300 with Heacock. Use limitations will very among companies so shop around. Heacock balked at covering my 2000 S-TYPE even though it has won 6 JCNA Championships (Too new) because I told them honestly I would occasionally drive it for non-collector purposes. Driving it to Delaware, Atlanta, and all over Texas for shows was OK: driving it to WWal Mart was not!

I use American Collectors and they definitely have multiple tiers for annual mileage. They expect that your cars insured with them will be used primarily for club related activities, and I'd think that rallies would count..

Your cars are very new for coverage by most of the collectors car insurance carriers. Many will not touch cars that are not at least 20 years old.

I know a number of people who have USAA for both their daily drivers and their collector cars and love them. There are also Hagerty, Chubb, Grundy, Allstate, & AMCO.

I have been told that both American Express (yes, the same company as the credit cards) and 21st Century Insurance both offer collector policies that allow for unlimited use.

Any policy that allows unlimited use will be far more expensive than those with mileage caps. I'll also add that American Collectors gave me a "no problem" response when I wanted to take my collector car on a tour in 2007 that involved driving from VA to UT and back. This went well over the annual limit but they knew what my average use was and that this was a club sponsored tour.

Hello Allen, compared to California that is a very good rate. It is unlikely you will find a "classic" policy that will allow rallies and over 5000 Miles per year. What company do you have currently, also in CA a classic car has to be older than 1976!

Al one good thing about living in SC is the insurance companies can not pick and choose--Try State Farm as they have a collector policy that has adjustable limits for use.
