I have noticed low oil pressure when driving my 67 e type. The op will start out above 20 psi, and then decrease as low as barely above 1 psi when the engine is idling. There are no other adverse indications of oil starvation, etc etc.

I have ordered a new op sender in hopes of correcting what I perceive to be an op sender discrepancy. Question is what tech installation info do I need>?? Any pitfalls, and so on??
thanks

Excellent, and now that I have discovered this fine club I will indeed get all the books I can get my hands on. I have done almost everything imaginable to my Jag, mostly out of my Chiltons and another manual I have. Not many gents around want to spend countless hours working on a car that they don't own. If there was a solid mechanic in this FL area, I could make him a rich man doing the work that is no longer so much fun as I age!!!
Enjoy the SB, hope your team wins!1

It indeed does reside there. I have big arms and although I can "just" do the job without moving anything I find removing the triangle air plenum gives plenty of access--Hey just a bit of ribbing but sounds like you need some better manuals--try checking out the shoppe for the original factory manuals and others--we have them all!

George; You are a true gent for your gracious reply! Many thanks, and I'll heed your input. This is elementary, I suppose, but is the sender on the top of the oil filter housing?? Can't seem to locate it in any of my old manuals??
Thanks much!

Fred it is a straight swap--remember to make sure the copper sealing ring is used and it will help if you have the correct Whitworth wrench but you can use others. 20 PSI at cold startup is very low and 1 is dangerous at idle but if it is the sender you are fine. If you put the new sender in and still have those readings I would substitute a mech. unit for a test. If the test says there is still a problem (not oil pressure but electrical) then test your gauge nd the voltage regulator for the gauge.
