I have an 1957 XK140MC that I want to put a biscuit interior in. I understand that a car with an Imperior Maroon exterior paint color could have a biscuit interior. I can't find a modern color code for that color. Does anyone know the correct paint code for that color? Or altenatively is their another exterior color that will allow a biscuit interior?

Dave,
My 120 was originally red with a duotone red and biscuit interior as built. I researched and found an original 120 with the OEW and biscuit combination, then proceeded to do mine that way.
In the two years I won the 120 class, no judge ever asked what the original color was.

I realize that the factory offered standard combinations for various models but on the other hand have understood that if an exterior color and interior color were offered in the year your car was built that you could have ordered whatever combination of those colors you wanted, regardless if the car you ordered was an OTS, DHC or FHC.

The car is a numbers matching 1957 XK140MC. It was originally painted birch grey with red upholstery. I wanted to use biscuit interiof because I have that interior. Is there an advantage to paint the car its original color? Does it matter to the Judges? If there is, maybe I should dye my upholstery.

Dave it is Imperial maroon--call the PPG library and they can provide a modern replacement. For the XK140 the color was Maroon not Imperial maroon but I have not crossed the codes to see if they are the same. The other colors that matched Biscuit were Dove Grey, for a OTS and other combinations for FHC ot DHC--what type of 140 do you have?

David,
I had the JCNA national champion, 100 point, XK 120 SE in 2000 and 2001. It was painted Olde English White with biscuit interior. It had wide whitewalls and chrome wires and was the most impressive car on the field everywhere I campaigned it.
As long as OEW was offered as a paint option for the 140, this would be my suggestion. BTW, I bought the interior kit from BAS , it was flawless and they provided great service. ( see attached)
