The original size of 235/60 15s are hard to find and expensive.
A tire dealer told me 215/70 15s will work? Anyone out the with some experiene on the subject? Will the 215/70 work?

The 215/70x15 was standard size on earlier XJSs for many years.
Yeah, it'll "work"...but if you're at all interested in "performance" characteristics you won't find much, if any, selection in that size. Going to a 225/60x15 will give you more choices....if you want more choices :-)
