Can anyone tell me if this car has telescope & up/down on the steering wheel? I just looked at one in pouring rain and clould not find the
"telescope" feature. Also, anyone with experience of adding one more "notch" back on the driver's seat?

One other strange item - when I enter the VIN number at CarFax or the Experian site..it says the car is a 1990 (owner says 1991). But, it is a "Collector Edition" which shows as an option for 1991 and not 1990?

Thanks,

Scott

Yesthe steering column is tilts onlyno telescoping. And, the news gets worse
The ÔÇÖ87 and older had an option to move the seat rack back about one inch. They also had a much more comfortable seat design. The later models do not have that option and compound the problem with seats that sit too high, over stuffed, and pinch your bottom. Obviously, the newer XJS was not built with grown adults in mind.

My wifeÔÇÖs car is a 1991 ÔÇ£CollectorÔÇÖs EditionÔÇØ and she is 6ÔÇÖ 1ÔÇØ and almost comfortable with the seats, driving position, and steering wheel. I am 6ÔÇÖ 5ÔÇØ and after greasing up and slithering into the drive seat, I can take only about 45 minutes before I have to get out and let the blood circulate! I can only drive the car because the seat backs recline.

I have had the seats out on two different occasions to see if there was some field modification I could reasonable make to improve the travel of the seats. The answer is NO, but One possibility might be to modify an older seat rack to take the newer seats, but the real problem is the overstuffed seat design and the rear deck. The rear deck would have to be redesigned to allow for any additional seat travel and still allow the back to recline.

Good Luck
