The B bank injectors seem to remain open while engine is on. car will stall if idling, if throttle applied, runs very rough with fuel leaking from left side exhaust. With fuel pump relay out, and cranking, A bank injectors tick normally, while there is no ticking from ANY B bank injectors. Anybody see this before? what should I suspect? where should I start investigating? Thank You!

Well, checked the splash shield install, all good,( wrong side for the suspect harness, but checked nonetheless), disconnected the injectors, power resistor, harness connector and ECU, tested for shorts to ground on all wires- all good( the B bank 2,4,6 lead has a tap to the speed transducer unit, which mildly misled me), checked power resistor all good(F.Y.I.; nominal resistance of each of 4 power resistors is about 5.5 ohms), SUBSTITUTED another ECU,.. and that fixed it, ... FAULTY ECU. the "spare" ECU came with the car, but I am not sure if it is dialed in for the vehicle, I also do not know the long term effects this will have on the car yet. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS AND SHARING YOUR EXPERIENCES!

I was thinking the power resistor pack, and I would be almost sure of it had it only been a group(s) of 3 cylinders not pulsing, I believe the resistor pack is set up that way. is there a bench test for the resistor pack? or nominal values across terminals? I have to study the triggering system some more to see which wires to further trace. I though all triggering wires back to the ECU were in groups of 3 injectors, as they go across the resistor pack. It is definitely ALL BANK B cylinders affected. Thank You, any help & direction is appreciated. I have disabled the fuel pump until this situation is remedied in order to avoid gasoline spillage, contamination, & hydrolock.

I had a similar problem awhile ago, I accidentally replaced a screw in a splash guard behind the pas side wheel well, the fuel injection harness is right behind that area..... I removed the screw and the engine worked fine, patched up the wiring and that was it.......NO LOL......

I agree with William that this is dangerous--good point. When I sugested the tracing of the trigger wires I was thinking of doing that with the car off. There is no reason to have power as you are surely looking for a ground fault!--I think!

First, this is a dangerous situation, fuel is filling up the cylinders it will seep into the sump contaminating the fluid and out the exhaust. Disconnect the injectors which are staying open until you find the cause. I think the injectors fire cross ways,ie, 3 on A bank and 3 on B, so check exactly which ones are staying open.

Start with the module (power resistor) and wiring to the resistor and from it. That is located in the front of the right hand engine bay very low on the inner fender and near the radiator. If that proves to be ok you need to look at the ECU and wiring to the ECU. From your description a trigger wire is suspect of being grounded.
