Hi y'all: my new(1994) Jaguar has a cd player in the boot. I have not had the pleasure of this option, but, I cannot get the slide to move towards the front(sliding to the right), except for about an inch.
The plastic is old, therefore on the brittle side. Anyone have the same problem, and if so, did you resolve the problem without breaking anything?
Thanks for your interest. Ali

cd player
Alice it sounds like a cartrage is in there--Can you see one? If so does the CD player have power? You should be able to slide the door forward (to the right) and unless someone has placed a foreign object in there I would not know why. It is an Alpine unit so perhaps you might go to a sterio store--if there is a trick they will know it. Good luck.

Hi Y'all: Mission accomplished!! Ms Alice, with all her mechanical skills and knowledge, has solved the mystery of the slide not being able to go all the way to the right. Ms Alice went out to the problem, looked at the cd cover again, then pushed the cover as far to the right as possible, approx 3/4", then inserted the tip of the ignition key into the space and gently pushed the cd towards the fender. Well, what no one, nor any info we found, indicated that the cd player floats inside its cover, and it had moved towards the slide, binding an edge. You see, ignition keys and bobby pins should always be part of one's tool kit! Thanks for your time and suggestions. Stew and Ali King
