Hello, New to Jaguars. What should I look for when replacing the vibration dampener on a '94 xj6 w/ 4.0 inline 6? The dampener rubber is deteriorated. Possibly caused by an oil leak, or just normal aging? If by oil, are there special tools to access the oil seal, or just use the normal tools any shop should have? Keepers, etc. holding the seal? Would like to get a manual for servicing/repairing the engine, etc. Would anyone have same to sell, or can I download from this site? Thanks for your time and knowledge. David.

Vibration dampener replacement, '94 xj6, 4.0
David the workshop manual for your car is one click away in the shoppe. You are in the XJS forum but that manual (XJS) is also in the shoppe--so you are covered!
George Camp....... Thanks for the information. I have not seen the car yet, supposed to get it a week from Tuesday. It is actually an XJ6 rather than an XJS. I posted in the wrong forum. I'll check out the shop manual. I have found out that the reluctor ring on the back of the vibration damper came loose. Hope it did not ruin the crank position sensor. David.
