Has anyone with a XJ8 or XJ8L had the rear airshocks replaced with the after market [ARNOTT Air Suspension Systems] airshocks?

I believe I may have to replace my right rear airshock and or both rear shocks, so contacted ARNOTT and also printed their 'remove and replace' instructions from their web site. (www.arnottindustries.com).

Looking over the instructions, I noticed that their replacement airshocks look much different then the ones on my car (OEM). To check on this, I sent them an email asking them to explain why the difference.

Their reply was, that when they rebuild the OEM equipment received as a core, they use (rebuild) only the shock portion on the oem shock and then use their own developed airspring portion, which looks different.

I'm cocerned about the ride and funtion of their system. So if any of you have used their product, I would appreciate your reply and opinion.

A 30 day money back guarantee and a Life Time warranty isn't any thing to sneeze at. So IMHO, it deserves a lot at.

Thanks

Ben,
Thank you very much. That was just the information I was looking for. I'm with you, possible (motivation) opinion there, but I also agree, with a lifetime warranty, with the ease you say it takes, and the difference in the cost, they should be worth the try. BTW, how long did it take to get your core cost back?

Bill, thanks for your help also. I think the online catalog is up to date, so not to worry.

Thank you both.

The online catalog shows only rebuilt rear air shocks in in either comfort or sport.
For the front you may order the new air shock or the rebuilt air shock. You mentioned you spoke with them and it may be the online catalog is out of date. I still would pick the new design.

Bill,

I'm not quiet sure I understand your second sentence but, Arnott now makes and sells the rear replacement for the OEM that they offer. They say it is just as good as the OEM, though it does look very different.

Maybe someone on here has put them on their car and will reply about them....

Arnott sells both OE rebuilt front air shocks and now also the new design you are talking about.. The rear air shocks don't appears to be only available in the OE design.

I would stay away from the coil spring replacements as the ride cannot be the same

when mine go out, I will replace with the new design front air shock
