Good morning, I have a 1969 XKE 2+2 and wanted to know if anyone knew the part number for the metal slide stopper that prevents the rear hatch from opening to far? Im not sure what the proper name of it is but is sits on the bottom of the hatch and holds the hatch open when fully extended.

Thank you.

It's the same part for every hatchback after the early 3.8s. Those used a solid rod that dropped into a socket but after that they all used an over-centre lock-out brace that is a hinged flat strip, not a slide device.

The usual sellers such as SNG Barratt will serve you without part numbers, although you will make life easier having them. If you just want to buy parts then call them up and place your order by phone based on the description. Once i na blue moon you may have to pay return postage for a wrong part because you didn't have the exact number and that could mount up to the price of a parts book but it's your call. I don't have my parts book at hand so just call them up if you are in buying mode. If you want the number for some other reason, then don't wind them up jsut asking for part numbers.
