My car is not on the road so it is not registered at the moment.

Are there different levels of classic car registrations in PA?
-Antique
-Classic
Is there a difference that matters to us and does anyone have a recommendaiton of how I should register my 69?

Also - a friend of mine mentioned that in Florida you can buy period plates off of Ebay and then with permission of the state use that plate for your car...in otherwords if I could find a Vintage 1969 PA plate I might be able to use it - anyone have experience with that?

So in sum
How should I register / plate my car?

THANKS!

In VA, you can register your 25+ year old vehicle as Antique, with state issued tags, or tags for the year of the vehicle as a vintage tags. (I have 1968 plates on my E-Type, and 1960 plates for my Mark IX) This process restricts my driving of the car, though.

If I wanted to drive the car regularly, then I can still use vintage plates, but have to renew registration every year, plus pass state inspection annually. Vanity plates are also available.

Jason,

I ordered a reproduction 1971 NC License Plate with "71 - XKE" on the plate. In NC as long as we have a current plate in the car we can use old tags. My car is willow green and 1971 NC tags were white with blue lettering...I had them produce mine white with green lettering (not a perfect match but closer than blue).
Later,

Phil
