Thank you George, yes it is confusing. My WM is e190/1 but It looks like I have the diagram you found, in the RTC9089C BUT that does not match what I have on the car . It is an 08/77 car - right on the year change- registered as 1977 sold in 1978, it has two thermo switches. It is interesting that one of my last positions before leaving the UK was cataloging, actually making the various manuals, translating the engineering drawing descriptions to proper nomlacature. We would often be working on manuals a year after the model was introduced. All the while, updates came in daily, we could never catch up. Regards

William the repair manual for the Series 2 V 12 (E190/2) (1976 pub) is a bit short on the Fuel injected cars and void of Cal. specs (except for carb cars from the previous years). I think if you go to the XJ-S repair manual AKM 3455 and see Figure 2 on page 17-1 (California Emmissions) I think you will find what you need. It is the same engine and sapm specs so it should work. In that figure the dist. vac is drawn from the top nipple of the thermostatic switch. William there are no less than 5 variations on those pages (looks like things were changing quickly) so when you say a 1977 car I am not sure if it is a My77 or built in 77 or a 76 car titled in 1977. Anyway check out the pre HE XJ-S manual--think what you want is in one of the pics. Good Luck
