I am replacing some brake lines on my 1960 Mark IX. I went to parts store and had the option of "standard flare" or "bubble flare". The ones with the "bubble flare" also had "British" on the labels.
Which should I use, if buying pre-made length lines?

George,
You are right. Although I have the tools, etc., it will be simpler to order a kit. The only downside is that I have replaced the servo with one of the "newer" ones and the original line is too short. This will give me the opportunity to be "creative".

I noticed that SNG has a kit about 1/2 the price of XK's Unlimited. I have not ordered anything from SNG. Any secrets or things to be aware of?

Preston you will not be able to buy the correct lengths from a parts store. I suggest you buy a kit form someone like SNG Barratt. Otherwise figure in a tube flare kit in your price with a cutter and a bender system and a few tries to get it right. Your car in places uses both standard flare (often termed double flare) and bubble flare. The very tough ones to get right are the Bridge pipes from one claiper to the other--a little off and you will rub the wheel--but only for a bit then the line is finished--not good.
