After 25 years Ive decided to repaint my etype, which I acquired from the original owner back in 1988. I painted it then, and changed the black hardtop to the same color as the rest of the car.
IT looks great that way IMHO - at the time, I neglected to pick up the front chrome strip - the top always looked really cool with just the painted snaps, so I never bothered.
Now Im thinking Id like to put it in place - and it seems that the chrome finishing strip that goes across a series one removeable hard top is made of unobtainium!
Does anyone have a source, or - tee hee - an extra? thank you!

E type removeable hardtop!
Hi George:
You are a remarkable source of information - I cant thank you enough for all the help youve given me this year.
I will try Barratts (I think I may have already) - I do know the other chrome bits, which I haveon the top already, are rare indeed. XKs unlimited provides an after market top, but without the chrome, and not the same - even though I understand the 'original' hardtop was actually after market as well
thanks again for the actual part number.
yours

E type removeable hardtop!
Greg hopefully you can read the attached . The chrome finishing bead is BD20099 and I would call SNG Barratt and the others--I think this is one of the few chrome parts for the top available at reasonable cost. Good luck
Factory hardtops were not aftermarket.
