the new alternator works great. the one complication is grease on the brand new (10 weeks old/ 200 miles) leather seat. i tried a leather seat cleaner (lexol ph leather cleaner). i didn't want to use a solvent or gojo hand cleaner til i asked first. any suggestions?

True. However, you would be sitting on a grease spot and not know it. That's why a white interior car is the easiest to keep clean. You see the dirt right away and clean it up. With darker covers, you can go years without knowing just how dirty they really are---------some times, it's too late to do anything about it.

George, i gave it a 2nd shot with the lexol, later in the day. it is almost all gone. i will probably try a 3rd treatment after i get back from Pittsburgh on wednesday.

i guess i will have go buy a set of cheap plastic seat covers and cover the drivers seat when i bring the car in for service. the car exterior is black. i should have changed the interior color to black, when changing the carpet and recovering the seats. i wouldn't have this problem now.

Andy all leather is not the same--why not call your supplier Monday and get their take on it. Opinions here may not be proper for your seats. You have tried what I would have--I would stop and ask! Good Luck!
