Hello all, I just joined. Recently, I have inherited a fully restored '70 E-Type OTS. It's in very good condition and though I would love to keep it, I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to give it the care that it deserves. So my question is, how do you go about selling a classic car like this?
- Should I go to a few car shows and have it rated?
- There's a local dealer that would love to showcase it for me, but he would take 8% off the top. He would take care of all the necessary advertising etc.
- Any other thoughts are greatly appreciated.

My Dad bought car new while he was stationed over seas. It has 67k miles on it and pretty much sat from '78 until 2005. We've made a few changes like a new convertible top (BMW Blue canvas), new paint (BMW Blue also), and an overdrive. There's more done, but I can't remember it all. I don't have any pics yet. It's still garaged at my folks house down south. Thank you for reading.

Dave

I would recommend advertising your car on the JCNA classifieds, which is free for members. I have just sold my '67 2+2 Coupe pretty quickly through here, having had no interest from a paid ad in my local newspaper. You can post color photos too.

One word of warning though. Every time I advertise something on this website, I get a bunch of clearly bogus 'buyers', with bad English, made-up names, and a standard text which refers to whatever I'm selling as 'The Item" (I once had one that wanted to buy "My animal"!). So be wary of that. Otherwise, what do you have to lose?

In the meantime, you can try it with your local dealer. Just add 8% to your bottom line price.

Good luck!
