I have a 69 E-type and I need to know if the heat shield on which the Brake and Clutch reservoirs are mounted contains asbestos. Does anyone know what the material is?

Yes it is. Same for the lower heat shield and the muffler heat shield.

That is what i was worried about. Mine is flacking big time and has been just sitting in my basement shop. I have moved it several times. In to the bag it goes today while I wear a full respirator. Not something to play with.
