Were they all the same light tan colour regardless of the interior?

William you asked why and my guess was economy of scale. Another idea is the light color made the boot of the E ots look larger than it is. On the XK cars perhaps they were color matched so that when the door to the boot was open it looked better.

Perhaps George, but It doesn't seem to be the kind of thing Mr Lyons would scrimp on, the XK,s were colour matched and considering it was the "storage area" black would have been a lot more practical. perhaps he never looked in the boot!
