where can I get the best deal on 185-65R-15 Vredestein Tires and tubes for my wire wheels.

Hi Blake, I bought my latest tires, Michelins, from Dukes Tire on 17th St. They do an excellent job because, as I said, they do mag wheels all the time and have to be able to mount and balance etc. without messing up the wheels. HB

Hi Jay, How are you! I will second the comment Jay Weber posted. Go to a place that sells and does a lot of tire mounting on mag wheels. They have the machines and the training to not ruin wheels. My place in Wilmington has mounted Michelins and Pirellis on my 6" wide Dayton wheels and balanced them several times in 10 years without a hitch. Take care, Howard B

Robert and Charles, thanks for your help. Are there any other tires other than Vredestein you would recommend -and would the size still be 185x15 ? I heard that 205's might work.
Also, where do I find tubes for these tires. I have wire wheels.

thanks for your help.

Hi Don, I don't know where the best deal is but you sure don't want a 65 series tire as it's way to small in diameter. The Vredestein tire that is the proper size that will "look" right and not increase your RPM's on the highway is the 185x15 only, no 65 or 70 following the 185. This is a very good tire and you'll find that many folks here and on JL's use them.
