I have a problem with the clutch slipping on my '65 Series 1. When the engine is cold it works fine, it randomly occurs when the engine is hot and I'm accelerating through the gears. The clutch is new and the mechanic checked the clutch and it is dry. The mechanic loosened the rod adustor at the slave cylinder which helped for a while. That process doesn't make any sense to me. Does anyone have any suggestion to correct the problem?

You also have a rubber flex hose that can colaps and hold pressure to the slave cylinder. Have you checked the free play at the slave cylinder?

It sounds as if your clutch master cylinder's bypass port may be plugged. The port allows fluid in the system to pass back into the reservoir when it heats up and expands. If the port were plugged the expanded fluid would move the slave piston and slip the clutch. The port could be plugged by debris or because the master piston is not retracting enough. Is the clutch pedal return spring intact so the pedal is returning fully?
