During last Winter I disconnected one terminal on the battery where I store my Jag to prevent the loss of charge. Ofcourse, I locked the trunk and expected to return and open the trunk and attach the terminal. When I tried to get into the trunk, I inserted, then turn the key, push the botton, and pull up with no success. Also, I do not hear the lock disengage.
Is this a mechanical problem that can only be solved by drilling the lock out or is this electrical? What can I do to avoid drilling the lock.
I haven't been able to drive the car this Summer.

Bob, try going under the bonnet and useing a jumper battery on the cable running from fire wall to starter. That should give you power to the lock. Good luck.
