At a recent concours, it was mentioned that the color of the radiator shield on the inside of the bonnet was a foam green color and not silver. Any help in finding out the correct color would be appreciated. Thanks

David:

The radiator stone shield (BD18710) mounted between the to air ducts in the bonnet is indeed a kind of "duck-egg" blue/green. I colour matched it to:

Stone Guard Dupont spectral code LS134

A good automotive paint shop should be able to reference that code.

This is the same colour as the two support bars from the radiator that go to the base of the header tank, if yours is an earlier car pre-1966 or so, then they go silver (C16764, C16765). The screen itself should be clear-cadmium/zinc plated and not painted.

Other colours that I have matched for the 3.8l cars over the years are:

Seat Frames Dupont spectral code LS168
Jack (3.8l 2-piece) Dupont spectral code DS180
Hood Frame Dupont spectral code LS142

As Charles states, the radiator fan shield (C18109) is indeed fiberglass, and should be hammertone silver in colour.
