The paint is finished on my 70 XKE OTS and the painter is putting the car back together. I am having them media blast the front suspension components. What is the correct finish for these components? I think they should remain natural, yet a lot of others I have seen are painted.

Suspension finish
This is covered in the XKE judging guides. The suspension components were originally cad plated. Not painted or powder coated. As it is cast steel, leaving it natural will result in rust in a short time.

Suspension finish
I used Dupli Color Engine enamel, Cast Coat Iron (DE1651) or Cast Coat Aluminum (DE1651) when I restored my 68 E. It is available at auto parts sores.
What was the original finish in the V12 front suspension components? I have seen silver and black.
Thanks
Ron
