Hello. I'm going to purchase new tires. On this vehicle do you think "square" or "rounded" shoulder tires look better? Hope you know what I'm talking about? LOL
Also, any XJS owners: What Brand and Model tire do you like?

Thanks for opinions. Rick.

Hi Doug. Thanks so much for your response. I should have mentioned that I am one of those "put-put" weekend drivers. LOL! Well, it's true.
So for my purpose, probably any good all-season radial will do. With as little as I drive it, a new set of tires might outlast me!!
But the tires you mention above seem to have the combination performance and tread life that imagined. And the price is a bargain.
Again, thank you for your response. Rick.

Rick, I'm assuming you're after size 225/60x16, yes? If so you have dozens of choices.

What are your priorities? Long tread life? Quietness and ride quality? High speed cornering/traction/steering response? In my case, for example, living in the Pacific Northwest means "wet traction" is a big consideration that must be blended in with the others.

I'm on my second set of BF Goodrich "Advantage TA" 225/60x16. Superb traction wet or dry, "V" speed rating, "98" load rating, quiet tread design. Got 40k miles life from the previous set. Only about$100 each. My only complaint is the the steering response isn't *quite* as sharp as I'd prefer. Still, though, an excellent tire IMHO...and doubly so considering the modest price.

If you're a gentle driver, shoot, just about any tire will do the job for putt-putting about. At the other end, if you're an aggressive driver, there are many true "high performance" choices out there.

Cheers
DD
