What size socket do I need to remove my lattice wheels on my 1994 XJS?

TIA,
Tony

Tony, if your lugnuts have the stainless steel caps (most do) the fit of the socket can vary dependant on the condition of the caps, as the corners are often slightly rounded-off...and even new ones don't have hard corners.

And, yes, sockets can wear a bit over a long period of time

Are you using impact sockets? If so, in my experience, impact sockets often have 'softer' corners that result in a slight loose feeling.

Use what feels right but won't result in the lugnut being stuck in your socket :-)

Doug et al,

Tried the 7/8" and it was a little on the loose side. I guess it could be wear on the nut or socket; could it be a 21mm instead or is the wear more probably?

All the 80s-90s vintage Jags I've worked on use 7/8" socket. I'm betting yours is the same.
