I've done some forum research on this topic, but did not seem to find an answer to my issue- thus I'm hoping someone will recognize this issue, providing some guidance. I am in the final stages of a Concours restoration of my 1966 E Coupe and fitting body seals. I installed the door seals and now the doors will not latch despite trying all available adjustments of the door hinge. The door hits the B post (back top edge) at the top not allowing the door to close or latch. I don't want to force it because this will damage the paint. The car set for a number of years on jack stands in its climate controlled storage without the doors latched due to this issue. There does not seem to be much play (ware) in the hinge, but I'm willing to get them rebuilt if that will solve the problem. I removed the door seal, but this did not help--door still will not close and hits B post. The gap at the back of the door (where it hits) is much smaller than the front of the door at the bulkhead despite full adjustment limits. IÔÇÖve posted are a few pics of the issue. Anyone had this problem?

SI E-Type Coupe Door Fitting Problems
Hi David, Thanks for your response. How did you drop the hinge? Did you drop the hinge bolted on the ÔÇ£AÔÇØ post or the hinge paddle inside the door? Did you have to drill- tap holes? I've tried adjusting the hinge both at the ÔÇ£AÔÇØ post and the hinge paddle inside the door to the fullest extent possible and at both locations combined and the door will still not close or latch and hits at the top back. Mine is also a coupe.

SI E-Type Coupe Door Fitting Problems
I have a 1966 2+2 E- Type which I've restored to concourse condition over 14 years. I had this same problem but was able to drop the hinge about 1/4 inch to allow the door to clear at the rear. The hinge mount on a coupe issomewhat different I know but you should be able to do this I would think.

George, The back top edge of the door itself is hitting at the top of the "B" post and there is a tight gap here compared to the gap at the front. I've tried adjusting the door fully forward, but I'm at the limit of the forward adjustment-- still hits at the back.
