wondering if Gloria needs a lip spoiler. She is a 1994 XJS 4.0 convertible. This model year has what appears to be a lip spoiler built into the front surround with holes for brake cooling. Yet, the parts manual shows BEC 13168 fits all models, all years. You can see what appears to be mounting holes underneath. She's got 115k on the clock when I got her six months ago. The PO scraped the existing undertray really bad. I'm wondering if it had one OE. Does it need one? For improved cooling/ground effects. Thanks for reading!

Lip spoiler
Sorry photo didnt come thru. Does the undertray fasten to the holes in the bumper cover? If yes, then it seems mine is missing.

Lip spoiler
I've posted a photo showing the notched holes along the bottom. This area has nothing attached to it leading me to believe a lip spoiler had been there and become detached. Also there are no ducts for the front brakes so I'm assuming they were there and now are gone. Thanks

Lip spoiler
For 1994 the XJS didn't really have the 'lip' spoiler, that was the earlier cars. Yours has a spoiler of sorts formed as part of the frt bumper cover. [Bumper cover P/N BEC13469xxx, primered] Consequently you do not have the undertray that has the holes all along the frt edge. Your undertray is [should be] basically a flat panel, P/N BEC14385. In answer to, "does it need to be there?", yes it really does. Without it air just ducks under the radiator rather than be forced through it as it should. It will impact cooling efficiency and A/C performance if it is missing.
Hope that helps!
Thank you! You've goth headed in the right direction. Thanks again!
