I need to replace my VR rated tires (currently have AVONS) for my 1971 Series III E-Type. Any suggested brands?

Danny, thanks for the backup......Funny my car is a willow green as well...
The tires just transform the ride.

Definitely the Radial Michelin Defenders 205R 70/15 was the way to go for me.
I purchased 5 new ones for our Series III V-12 a year ago. Don't forget new tubes if you have original spoke wheels. I actually keep a spare tube in the car too. Got a flat at a JCNA event 2 hours from home - it was nice to have a new matching spare, trembling in the spare tire well.
Also - the speedometer was within 1 mph using my GPS Speedo Application on my Smart Phone, reading @ 70 mph - no wondering how fast you are really going on the new Kicks!

Good luck and let us know what you decided.

205 r 70-15... now remember my 70 has the cheater 6 inch offset daytons, so a series 3 should be the same size. Just double check.
Standard was 5 1/2 for series 2...
You also have that BIG V12 Make sure of the tire height, that why steel wheels are standard the wires would crack over time with al that weight.
Michelin defenders, all round the best and modern, not repo junk from molds 50 years ago....
Good luck.
