Are we doing something about the board voting in other board members with voting rights I think that the membership should support a motion to recind this flagrant violation of the voting rights of the members. This action by the board has diluted the votes of our club elected delegates and has swung the board vote majority toward the board itself. Does anyone else find this beyond comprehension in a supposedly democratic club?

Re: Winterizing
: My XJ6 Series III has just gone into hybernation for the winter.
: Although I plan to move it from storage to my garage to do some work
: on it during the winter, it will not be driven. I just filled the
: tanks and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a gasoline
: preservative/additive to put in the tanks to preserve the gas till
: the spring. I got something to put in the gas tank of my snowblower
: for this purpose when I put it away for the summer.
There is a gas stabilizer called "Sta-Bil." You can pick it up in most auto parts stores or marine supply stores. It is sold mostly for storage of boats over the winter, but it will work just the same in a car. Last winter, when I put the XJS and E-type away for a few months, I put some in. Did the job.
But, putting it into a full tank won't help you. You should have added it BEFORE you filled the tank, so it would mix with the gas and then run the car for a short while to get it through the entire system to keep the gas in the fuel lines/pump/injectors from going bad. You might want to consider taking the car out, running it until the tank is about 1/2 full, add the Sta-Bil or other stabilizer, fill it up, drive it home and then store it.
On another note, did you change the oil? If not, you should do it now, before winter layup. Over the summer, you build up contaminants and acids in the oil. Always store the car with fresh oil. If you haven't changed the coolant in a couple of years, now is the time to do it also, for the same reason as the oil. Disconnect the battery to prevent drainage. Check it and recharge it before starting. And if it is going to sit for a long time without moving, you might want to jack it up and put it on blocks to take load off the tires. Cover the car, if possible, and put mouse traps or poison bait around to prevent critters from taking up residence.

: Also a good time to change the brake fluid and bleed the brakes (and clutch) till you get clear fluid out of calipers.
