I have an intermittant braking proble. About 30% of the time when I hit the brake the car dives to the left.

I recently took the car to a dealer for a diagnostic(100.00) and they told me the problem was the pump pressure relief switch and relay. I brought the parts and had my regular foreign car mechanic install them. Parts 570.00 labor to install 120.00

Drove the car about 200 miles and the problem returned.

Help!!

Hello Richard Frado
I need more data:
How many miles on the car?
Is it a daily driver or a show car that is in storage much of the year?
Is the brake fluid clean or dirty and burnt?
When was your last brake fluid flush?
Have you replaced any other brake parts?
How many sets of brake pads have been put on the front and what is the time/duration/miles between sets?

A blind/wild guess:
Flex brake hose collapsed internally and is acting as a one way valve.
If you replace one hose, make sure that all of the flex hoses are done at the same time, this will save later problems.

A bad flex hose or caliper can cause an intermittent braking problem; hit the brake the car dives to the left/right, also can develop a sudden fish tail feeling in the rear.
Frequent pad replacement or odd wear of the pads can help diagnose this problem.
The ABS system can compensate to some degree for a bad flex hose, it does overwork the system.
Have a great day.
