It is about time to get another car. As cars get newer I seem to like them less and less. When trying to make a decision on a car I finally decided on the 1990-1994 XJ6. The only problem is the ones that are in my price range have high miles, so I would like to install a 350 or maybe even a 383 stoker. For the past couple of days I have been searching the web trying to find a kit for this car with no luck. Anyone know where I can check?

Thanks,
Matt (soon to be Jag owner)

if you want a Chevy... Get a Chevy...

the Jaguar inline 6 is a great engine, very reliable and capable of high mileage with little maintenance...

if that's because you want more power, then yo're going to hve a lot of work to do to make sure the rest of the car is up to the job... diff... suspension...

and a lump is really worth almost nothing... so even if you buy it cheap, you're still potentially loosing a lot money...

if you want a chevy.. get one... if you want more power...get an XJR...

Matt,

You can get the kit From John's Cars in Texas. The real question though, is why you would want to do such a thing. The Jaguar engines are extremely well engineered and long lasting. Turning a Jaguar into a shell with an American lump gives you a less refined car that is worth less than when you started. What are you believing that makes you think the conversion is the right thing to do?

I had a '93 XJ6 with 100k when I sold it (got a '00 S-Type in its place). I never had any problems with the engine and I only got rid of it because I got a great deal on the S-Type. I wouldn't be so hasty to put a totally different engine in the Jag. You said you'd soon be a Jag owner, but I disagree. You'll be a Jag body owner because it won't really be a Jaguar with a GM engine. Why don't you just rebuild or tune up the 6 cyl in the XJ6 so you'll really have a Jaguar and not a mutant hybrid. Jags are Jags in many ways due to their engines.
