Hi all.
I'm looking to find a good mechanic/service shop in the Auburn Hills/Pontiac or surrounding area. I have a smoking problem with my '86 XJS that I think is transmission fluid leaking and getting onto the exahusts - when the exhaust gets hot enough, the oil burns off in quite an alarming white cloud that quickly dissapears, and only re-occurs once the car has been allowed to cool down enough so the exhausts get recoated with fluid. The trans pan is definitely leaking, and the cover from the torque convertor appears to be missing completely.
If anyone has any recommendations, they'd be much appreciated !
Thanks !
Steve

Thanks, but thats a fair hike from us - probably a 3 or 4 hour drive :)
Might be a little far to take a sick Jag !

Re.: Jag Mechanic - Auburn Hills/Pontiac MI
I would recommend my Jag mechanic, providing he is not too far for you. He is NW Indiana about 60 mi. SE of Chicago. He is very good and only charges $45 an hr.. He has done a lot of good work for me, including a valve job on an '84 XJS.
His name is Rick: 219-306-7950

I'll do that - you are literally just around the corner :)
