Does anyone have any experience with oil flushing products on 4.2's?

Good point George, I appreciate the input and it makes sense. I drive it pretty hard, but will not have many miles between changes and at half a tanker full every time I change the oil a penny saved....

Bruce here is a good reason. Unless you drive a lot you are simply throwing money away. Most classic Jaguars need a oil change on time--not distance or hours. At the cost of synthetic you have to ask yourself--how far will I drive in a year? If it is not high mileage then stick to the Castrol.

Good Morning Bernie
My engine is still being broken in after a complete rebuild and I am using Valvoline 20-50 Racing Oil because of the Zinc. I will be changing oil and filter at 1000 miles. I have had no oil consumption at this point (about 320 miles)
I believe I will be changing to a synthetic amsoil or castrol 20-50 unless someone on here can give me a good reason not to

Bruce,

I have been using 20-50 oil at the oil changes- Penzoil, Castrol, and now Valvoline...considering how I use it, I buy it by the case...

None of it has been racing oil - just the standard 20-50...was thinking of also adding some of the zinc/phosphorus oil amenders...do you have any experience with any of these products?hat?

btw, the MMO experiment is still going on...and oil consumption changes have been fairly favorable...
