Hi

Is it possuble for you to email me a copy, I am attempting to fit an afterm, arket CD Player to replace the Clarion DBC3976 that was factory fitted to my 1989 XJ6, and of course, the new cables dont match up even remotely to the old!

simple, look at the green area above this message, you'll see a Date, original Topic title, the User Name, and 'Reply'.
Click on the User Name and that should open a window in your e-mail program, already pre-addressed.

The 1980's factory stereos are known to malfunction with passage of time. Depending on which exact stereo you have,
the problem might be the unit, not the wiring, but who knows.

well I wonder what happened to Martini and his request...

I have the original 1984 radio installation instructions, 7 of 7 pages that were left with my car documents by the Jaguar Dealer who sold the car and installed the original stereo. This must be the only original set left in the world! (maybe not). The instructions include step-by-step for the XJ-6 Series 3 and the XJ-S. The wiring description and drawings are accurate and I re-used them to install a Kenwood in my car. I can't post scanned images here or at Jag-Lovers because of Copyright issues I am told. But I can send them privately by e-mail to anyone that needs them for restoration or re-installation.

I don't have a wiring diagram for that year, but if no one else supplies you the information, let me know, and I will post a step by step walk through for ya, to use without a wiring diagram.Installing radios is actually quite easy. In fact I have found that it's usually easier without a diagram, especially foreign car diagrams, because the color codes are usually wrong anyway.
