Is there any special requirements to have duplicate keys made for an E-Type? Any idea on where this is done? I have an existing key but not sure where to have this done.

Thanks,

If you have the correct blanks.. you are halfway home! Just be sure to stay FAR away from any automated machine where they insert your keys pointy end first.. (home depot) Find the old school key machine at an ACE hardware or locksmith and that'll cut it. Good luck

I would start with a good quality lock smith. A well equipped shop should have the blank you need. However, if that doesn't work, I would try looking in Hemmings Motor News. They have listings for all sorts of things like that. One last resort...I had a 53 Bentley and I took the key with me on a visit to the UK and I shopped around and found a small locksmith near London. I showed him the key. He went into the back room and came back with the correct blank which he cut for me. He was a bit ammused at seeing the 1950's style car key but was more than happy to find a customer for the old blank that he had.So if you know someone heading to the UK and can spare the key for a time, that's an option but perhaps one of last resort.
