I am looking for a source for replacement panel switches for my 4.2L Series II. Can anyone recommend a good parts outlet? Many thanks!

Dont worry David... Those switches come up pretty often on FleaBay... I wouldnt get goofy and pay a 100bucks for one.. 40 is plenty in my opinion.. For some reason, lots of people there think their junk is worth gold ;-)

You are right about all the pieces! I took you advice and removed them with utmost care. All are now working with the exception of the fan switch. Saw a switch sell on ebay for about 40.00. Wish I had bid on it. (sigh!) Thanks for your advice!

Be careful when opening up these switches, lots of little parts that want to go walk about. The plastic might be very brittle and you'll flip when you find out how much the piece you just broke costs! :-o A little contact cleaner and dielectric grease can make them usually work like new. As far as the fading of the covers... I have just buffed them on the wheel and they come back looking great. I have never seen anyone sell JUST the covers. Anyone here have a link to the cover itself being sold? I would be interested in buying a cracked cover for one of mine. (that I cant fix);-)

A good source of switches these days is SNG Barratt. They are making reproductions of the switches. As pointed out, you can also get replacment covers without getting the whole switch. Try cleaning the contacts on the switches, as well as the posts and connectors. You'd be surprised how much better they work with 30+ years of corrosion removed.

BTW, Stefan Roundy is a great source of used parts. But his email address is: stefanratbealenet.com. (not bealenet.net).

There are a couple of the usuals you can get switches from. I have gotten great service from Terry's Jag. No affiliation, just satsified customer. Are the switches actually bad? You can get replacement covers for the switches and save a ton of dollars. Some of the switches on that panel are quite expensive to replace. Also a good source for bits and pieces is Stefan Roundy. I have gotten very honest and good service from him also on hard to find items. I believe his e-mail address is Stefanratbealenet.net Good luck.
