I recently purchased my 1969 XKE roadster and I would eventually like to replace the top, interior floor carpets or possibly the entire interior to a new color (tan). I would appreciate any thoughts on where these items can most reasonably be purchased. What type of top is best for my Jag? Canvas?

Re.: carpets, tops and interior kits
Peter,
You might also want to try Barrett's Jaguar in Rhode Island. They are Jaguar enthusiasts and do excellent work. Their interiors are first class.

Be aware that no one is supplying the originial flocked carpet (even though they claim to be supplying original materials or have words to that effect in their name) for the Series 2 and 3 E-Types, and the protest committee has affirmed the 16.8 point deduction for use of other than the original flocked carpet. This is not a problem if you or subsequent owners never intend to enter the car in JCNA Concours. It is hoped that if enough people demand the original flocked material that someone will remanufacture it (its happened on other NLA items). Also, be aware of the Concours requirements for original exterior/interior color combinations.
