My wheels have been damages due to a sticky gluey like substance that has eroded the paint. I cannot work out how this substance got on my wheels, my only assumption is that it is coming from the brakes. Of course Jaguar deny this, has nayone else had experience with this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jason,

I'm not familiar with your particular problem, but if you are leaking brake fluid, it will remove paint. However, if you are actually leaking brake fluid from near the wheels, you have a bigger problem, unless someone left a brake bleeder open slightly. Is there any evidence of loss of brake fluid at the reservoir? Also, have you removed the wheel and checked the bleeder and brakes for any evidence of leakage? It would be very unusual for a modern car to leak brake fluid.

As for the sticky substance, if it's not brake fluid, I haven't a clue what it could be. May have come from someplace other than the car.
