I just brought the 1986 XJ6. It was kept under cover but the paint oxide as water got to the body. Is there a way to restore the paint? or should I look to get a paint job?

Also, the wiper motor is shot. Is this a big problem and expensive to fix?

Thanks,

As far as the paint goes, you can try a few different things. It really depends on how badly the paint is oxidized. There is a great product I used recently called Ultra Finish. You can find it on the internet and buy it from a distributor. You won't find it in stores. It is great. The paint may need to be compounded. If you are not familiar with doing this, you might want to take it to a body shop or detailer and pay to have it done right. They will be able to tell you if the paint can be saved or not.

As far as the wiper motor goes, try Coventry West. They sell newer parts and might be able to tell you how hard it is to replace.
