HI!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Well, I keep adjusting the springs, and close the "Bonnet" it latches tight with about 1/4" play.
get in start her up , drives nice, get on the onramp of the expressway, merging into traffic and POP the "Bonnet " opens pass side first then drivers side, save for the safety latch, EVERY TIME!
Very annoying,
Anybody have any Ideas?

Thanks so much, for your imput and the link.
I remember reading it, and following their course of action, however it appears to be a short term fix.
I've adjusted the pins in position and length, many times. shortlived solution
I've a feeling that I'm going to have the latches rebuilt/replaced at my local Jaguar Annuity Beneficary.

Robert,

Not sure if this will help or not, but several months ago when I was considering buying my first Jaguar (I did buy it BTW), I did a Google search on Jaguar to read about it. I came on a website that discussed the hood, and your symptoms in detail. I just tried to re-create the search moments ago for you and had no luck, if I come across it I will post the link for you. The bottom line was that many who encountered the problems you describe were closing the hood improperly, moving everything out of proper alignment. It was where I learned, hours before I even test drove my XJ6, that you should close it from the front center grill (by lifting), not by pressing down on the hood by the latches like any other car. I'm sure you knew all this already but I figured I would try to help you out.
