XKs Unlimited is offering a recently renewed type of adjustable reaction plate for the front torsion bars.
Does anyone have good or bad experiences with this device?
Shipping this reaction plate to Holland costs $ 110,- , nearly half of the consumer price.
It would be very nice to learn any advice!

Many thanks Brian, I understand now it is unwise to do the conversion. I am in no way planning a race track carreer for the iron lady. Please check www.xkedata.com, chassis nr. 1E32930.
Any way, I'll try to submit a pic of the new device.

I have had their earlier model on my Series II FHC for three years, and have really wished I had not bothered. Once you get the torsion bars set correctly, there is never a reason to mess with them. If I wanted to do serious on track driving on weekends, and not scrape every speed bump and driveway during the week in the same car, it would be worth it. Significant changes in height are also easier with this style as opposed to the stock one, but if you only do it once, it is not worth the cost and shipping.

The new design should have a better system to change ride height than the crudely flat spotted cam style arrangement on mine. I have not seen a photo of a new one. On the original style, you have to take the weight off the torsion bar to adjust, as you could twist the bolt head off trying to make it jump to the next stop with the weight on.
