I just bought my first 1988 jag xj6/xj40 4 door and the doors all work from the inside when i turn the key the locks function properly however the door will not open from the outside. can anyone help with some info that will fix this problem?

1988 & 1989 XJ40's are notorious for the door handle mechanisms breaking inside. You have to take the doors apart and repair/repalce the door handles.
