I have an Alpine CD Changer, model# CHM-S630, and it requires an interface adapter to work with my factory radio. This is for a 1997 XJ6.

I found the ALPIL cable made by Peripheral, but was told by a local car audio store that Peripheral has been know to drain the battery in your car.

If anyone has installed this model Alpine CD Changer, can you please let me know which interface cable you used and/or recommend?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes. I plugged in the changer, and it was not communicating with the radio. Only thing that was functional was power to eject the cartridge. I think since the CHM-S630 is also able to play CDR's it may not allow for direct plug in anymore?
