Unfortunately, upon further inspection, we have come to realize that our recently purchased Jag was in a major accident. The entire rear end of the car is beat up, misaligned and has shotty bondo and paint jobs. Looks like we have got our work cut out for us. Good thing I married an experienced car guy.
Kelly is pretty upset that he didnt catch this before we paid for it. But it isnt something that he cant sand down, repair and fix. Looks like he has a winter project.

Ugly Accident
Eh, the whole lawsuit thing just isnt worth the stress. We bought from a private person, no disclosure law there. If the car were unfixable/undrivable, it would be another story. We only paid 6k for it so I think we still did ok. Maybe I am delusional, but I love the car!

Ugly Accident
Terri,
Sorry to hear about the problem. Did you buy this car from a dealer or a private party? Did they disclose the accident (obviously not)? Did you do a Carfax check to see if it had clear title?
You should check the consumer protection laws in your state. If they knew the car had an accident (should show up in the Carfax record), and failed to disclose it, in some states you may actually have a claim against them for treble damages (three times what you paid for the car). Don't know what you paid, but it might be worth talking to a lawyer and finding out what your rights are. Then, once you have the carfax info and the info from the lawyer, go back to the seller and try to work something out. Otherwise, if your lawyer says you have a claim, sue them.

Ugly Accident
This sounds like the defect was intentionally hidden from the buyer by the seller and may be something to take to the local small claims court.
