I recently purchased an 84 VDP. The drivers window goes down until about 1.5 to 2 inches and stops. It could live with it, but it is really starting to bug me. I removed the door panel and "investigated" mostly removed or loosened everything but was unable to change anything or find a simple adjustment. I am wondering if someone could have installed the wrong regulator or if I just missed something. Any helpful advise would be appreciated. I also have an 1980 XJ6 that I was going to "investigate and compare" but thought I would post here in hope of something simple I have missed. Thanks!

Actually, I have replaced the felt and it moves fine up and down. I just stops short like it is done. I explored and was not able to find anything in the path, kind of like it is at the bottom except there is still about 3 to 4 inched of track left.

Might as well start with something easy. Give the felt run channels a thorough bathing of aersol silicone and see what happens.

The motors were never very strong to begine with and only get weaker. The the channels get dry and bind the glass.....between the two things can come to a halt.
