I figure I'll add a bottle of Water Wetter to my cooling system -

where the hell is the radiator drain plug ?

My coolant levels are 100% so i need to remove 16oz before I can add the water wetter -

I can't seem to locate the drain plug for the radiator - any tips - do I need to remove anything to access it ?

I'm tempted to clean between the AC / and Rad following KIRBYS advice

Rad and AC / Oil cooler are all pretty grubby and could use a good cleaning -

anyway any / all tips and advice would be apreciated.

Cheers

James,

Mike Frank has the right idea. Just remember, if you open up the system to drain fluid, you MUST follow the procedure in the owners manual for filling and bleeding the system. Otherwise you will end up with entrained air in the block and you'll have an overheating problem that you didn't have before. Use a turkey baster or just suction out some fluid from the header and pour it in. It will take a little time to circulate that way, but it's the safest, unless you want to bleed the whole system.

As far as cleaning the radiator/AC/oil cooler, just be careful. The tubing is delicate, and you don't want to mess up the fins too much. Try pulling any debris you can out from between them, if possible. If you have a power washer that you can adjust the pressure, try spraying them out from the back side to push out any foreign objects. Short of dismantling things, there's not much more you can do.

Unfortunately, Jaguar saw fit to delete that feature after the first few years of XJS production. To drain the radiator, you're expected to remove the lower hose.

You might try suctioning some from the header tank
