Hello fellow enthusiasts.
At the last concours I attended with my Classic 1990/1 XJS, an issue came up about the authenticity of a rounded leather shift knob that was part of the Classic trim group. There was no mention of it in the owner's manual, and the concours judges were going to deduct for it except that the other concours XJS (from their home club and a repeated entry) also had one. (does the explective "hometowned" mean anything to you?) The owner's manual shows a 'T' type shift knob.
Does anyone have access to any printed information about the inclusion of this item in the Classic trim group? Do I need a letter from Mr. Lyons about its authenticity? (Rather difficult to obtain at this point, I should imagine)
If you have something printed perhaps you could fax it to me? Please call first at 1-949-759-7799.
