The kitty we just bought has a gold colored Jaguar hood ornament on front that is badly discolored. I would like to buy a used one if it is cheaper than going through the dealer.

A good source is E-bay. I have purchased oodles of stuff (like a near perfect grille (new $350)) for $50, emblems, lenses, etc. Just go to e-bay motors and under car and truck parts bookmark a search for XJS parts and check it daily. That's what I do. In the interim, pull the old badge off (I'm hoping you are referring to the Growler, not the leaper) and shoot it with some spray paint. That will make it look a bit better until a replacement is found.
