I have a 2001 S type that I bought new. The compressor for the air-conditioner went out 4 weeks after the warranty was up.. I have less than 30,000 miles on the car and the warranty was up July 4th 2005. The warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles. I ask for a good will jester or some kind of help because of the low miles and general quality of the car from the dealer. The dealer said I needed to speak to Jaguar, which I did and wrote them a follow up letter as well.Their answer was it is out of warranty and nothing can be done. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Under on miles and only a few weeks over on time? Sheeesh. You'd think they'd offer you *something*.

I've heard so many stories like this.....I can only shake my head. I have worked in various car dealerships (non-Jaguar)my entire life and I can't believe how unyielding Jaguar is in these situations. If you owned a Chevrolet it would likely be a no brainer: "cover it under warranty as a goodwill gesture." In fact, GM would probably be mad at the servicing dealer if he *didn't* handle right there on the spot. Or, at very least, offer a 50-50 split or something like that.

In answer to you question , well, you can keep grinding at Jaguar and remind them of how they are missing a golden opportunity to build some goodwill and customer loyalty.

But, technically, they don't owe you a thing.

Good luck
